International Competitions

The following International Competitions for the season 2022/2023, each set out with their own selection policies have been identified by the Association to send a team of athletes.

  • European Athletics Indoor Championships | 2nd March – 5th March 2023

    1 Male – 60m
    1 Female – 400m

    Team will be selected based on which performance ranks the highest according to the World Athletics Scoring Tables of Athletics by the 12th February 2023.

  • European Athletics Team Championships Third League | 20th June – 22nd June 2023

    5 athletes are to be submitted for consideration by the Athletic Association of Small States of Europe (AASSE) which is a team made up of athletes from Gibraltar, Liechtenstein and Monaco.

  • NatWest International Island Games XIX | 8th July – 14th July 2023

    Team will be selected primarily based on athletes who attain the Gibraltar Minimum Consideration Standards. Only developing athletes (athletes who are yet to compete in an Island Games) are exempt from this condition.

  • World Athletics Championships | 19th August – 27th August 2023

    1 athlete will be selected based on which performance ranks the highest according to the World Athletics Scoring Tables of Athletics following the Island Games.

The following are Gibraltar Minimum Consideration Standards for the particular championships so headed. This does not substitute Championship Qualification Standards which are set out by both European Athletics and World Athletics.
