The following International Competitions for the season 2025/2026, each set out with their own selection policies have been identified by the Association to send a team of athletes. Criteria and dates for selection will be announced at dates closer to the events. *Please note attendance for these international events are subject to ratification by the GAAA Council based on eligible athletes’ performance assessed by the GAAA Head Coach and funding availability.*
SPAR European Cross Country Championships 2025 | 14th December 2025 | Lagoa, POR- World Athletics Indoor Championships 2026 | 20th March – 22nd March 2026 | Kujawy Pomorze, POL – *DEADLINE – 12th MARCH*
One athlete will be selected by the Head Coach based on the following factors, listed in order of priority:1. Qualifying Standards
Athletes who attain the qualifying standards published below will be given priority selection.
2. WA Scoring Tables
If no athlete meets the qualifying standards, selection will be determined based on the highest points according to the World Athletics (WA) scoring tables.
3. Consistency in Competition
• Athletes must demonstrate regular participation in competitions.
• Consistency in performance will be taken into account to ensure the selected athlete is actively competing at a high level.
• If an athlete has more WA points but has only competed once or twice, preference will be given to an athlete who has competed more frequently. - Championships of the Small States of Europe 2026| 30th May 2026 | Monaco, MON
Athletes who attain the qualifying standards below will be selected. Any athletes who get close to the required standard will be considered for selection.
