Mountain Invitation Race (≈6.5km)

Race Information:

This race is to be held in conjunction with the main race for the 2024 Championships of the Small States of Europe.

Distance is approximately 6.5km.

Race starts minutes after the main race which commences at 8am on Saturday 22nd June 2024.

Minimum age is 18.

There is no Registration Fee for this race.

A bespoke commemorative medal will be handed out to all participants at the end of the race.

Race Route: Start will be from the stadium with three laps of the running track and then athletes will exit the stadium and up into the nature reserve → The race follows a very scenic route with exceptional views of the Bay of Gibraltar and the City of Gibraltar → The race will be run on tarmac and the course has approximately 2.5 km of incline, some of them steep, and the rest with some level sections and downhill to the finish line → On arrival at the the stadium athletes will complete 300m on the track to the finish line.

The following must be adhered to:

  • Bibs not to be returned back once used.
  • Toilet facilities may not be available on the day of the race.

Important to note the race is run up a continious steep incline to the Top of the Rock with very little flat running.

Note: This is a ‘Road Race’ and as with all road races care must be taken with road traffic and pedestrians. Marshals will be placed at intervals across the route.

How to Register:

Race Registration:

No registration on the day. Registration is to be done prior to the event with a cut-off date of Wednesday 19th June 2024. This must be done by completing the online registration form available on this page under “Race Registration”. Team captains are encouraged to submit (if possible) one registration form with full details of their team for the race rather than have all individuals register themselves.

Bib Collection Information:

Council Member Mr. Roy Torres will be available on the morning of the race between 7:15am and 7:30am for bib collection.
